Our Principles

Militarization has been unleashed on the people of India in service of the wealthy capitalists, who make billions of dollars hoarding the profits from workers and natural resources belonging to Adivasis. Dalit and other oppressed-caste people have suffered for millennia under the horrors of casteism, and to this day are some of the most exploited and oppressed in the world, often forced into taking the most dangerous jobs. Indian society is incredibly patriarchal, with women facing abuses from all corners. Oppressed nations like Kashmir face occupation by the State, which paves the way for corporate profit-making. Violence against Dalits, Adivasis, women, and oppressed nations in India is widespread.

These horrific practices do not simply remain in India. When Indians go abroad, we take these with us. We have no doubt that casteism is practiced in the U.S., pairing itself with the growing rise of Hindutva among Indians globally. Hindutva, and the Sangh as a whole, have an influence on reactionary politics in the U.S. as well, with several politicians here being funded in large part by the Sangh in some form or another. The billionaires of India, like the Ambani family, invest in growing the American domestic industry under the auspices of Trump.

These issues therefore do not just affect Indians, but shape politics affecting all working Americans. There is a real political and economic alignment between reaction in the U.S. and reaction in India. Thus, we call all fellow working and oppressed people of the U.S. to join us in building principled international solidarity that supports the Indian people, not the ruling class. We uphold the following principles which form the basis of our work:

  1. Anti-Imperialist: We hold that capitalism is an outmoded system in decline, which we must overcome. In our current society, average working people are exploited by the ruling class, who make enormous profits off of us. Additionally, U.S. imperialism oppresses nations around the world, including India.
  2. Anti-Caste: We hold that Indian society is fundamentally casteist. Brahminical patriarchal practices are backwards and feudal, and they remain in today’s capitalist society. Caste supremacy has no place in our work. We seek to eliminate caste completely, and we do not tolerate casteism.
  3. Anti-Reformist: We hold that elections in the ruling class’ state will not liberate us. We do not encourage participation in elections, but instead push for power to be in the hands of the people. With power in the hands of the people, we can actually eliminate social ills like casteism, patriarchy, and racism from society.
